Identity and origins: Daughter of Berko Fayvush Koyransky and his first wife Tsipa. Sister of Rokhlia (who married Osher Porubansky). Born in Vilna approximately 1862–65 — the 1915 conscription record gives her age as 50, the most reliable single data point, placing her birth around 1865. Her birth year in our corrected sequence sits between Gitlia (~1858–62) and Rokhlia (~1863–64), so a birth year of ~1862–65 is consistent. No birth record found. No death record found. Marriage: Married Yokhel Yankel Kamin (also recorded as Komin) on 18 March 1894 in Vilnius. Khaia was approximately 29–32 at the time of marriage — the record states age 30, which for once may be fairly accurate given our revised estimates. Her husband Yokhel Yankel was age 32, son of Shevel, from Vilna, and was noted as previously divorced. Archive: LVIA/728/3/1467, record #71, film 2205054, item 2, images 138–230. Address: Safyannaya Street, Building 3, Vilnius. This street is in the same tight Jewish quarter of Vilna as Rudnicka Street where Rokhlia's family lived — the two sisters were neighbours.
