Notes

Second‑largest ghetto in occupied Poland, sealed in 1940 in the textile city of Łódź, renamed Litzmannstadt by the Germans. Rachmiel Estrajcher (with Gitla Joskowits) was deported here in August 1942 and Simcha Bonim Estreicher from December 1942; addresses recorded include Franz Strasse 62 and Rembrandt Strasse 7. The ghetto was liquidated to Auschwitz in August 1944.
