Mary Louise "Lou" Veazey

Mary Lou Scharf Obituary Mary Lou (Veazey) Scharf, 89, of Tulsa, OK. died February 11, 2017, at her home in Tulsa. Mrs. Scharf was Born on December 27, 1927, in Malvern, Arkansas, to W.A. and Josie Veazey. Mary Lou grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where she met her husband, Fred. After her family, her main interest included golf, in which she took up at the age of 38. Both she and her husband fell in love with the sport. Her highest achievements include Fore-State Captain, five Oklahoma State Senior Championships, one Mid-Amateur Championship, eleven Southern Hills Club Championships and many other victories. Mary Lou shot below her age twice in her career. She was also an active member the Gilcrease Museum Gillies and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Mrs. Scharf is survived by her husband of 62 years, Fred; her brother Robert Veazey and wife Patricia of Hot Springs, AR; her daughter [living relative] and wife Debbie of Denver, CO; and her four grandchildren, Sean Hardy, Tyler Scharf, Lauren Scharf, and Megan Scharf.
