Fred Scharf Obituary Fred Scharf Fred Scharf, 91, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on January 27, 2022 at his home in Tulsa. Mr. Scharf was born June 27, 1930 in Karlsruhe, Germany to Leo and Jeanette Scharf. In the mid-thirties and in pursuit of a better life, his family immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island from Germany. They settled in Chicago, Illinois where he grew up, went to Lane Tech High School, then continued his education at University of Missouri School of Mines at Rolla, Missouri, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering. Relocating for work to Hot Springs, Arkansas, he met and married the love of his life, Mary Lou Veazey. His career led him to working for an engineering firm in Tulsa, Fenix and Scisson Inc. where he worked his way up to becoming President/CEO. In his spare time he was an avid reader, enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and watching football. Mr. Scharf was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary Lou Scharf. He is survived by his sister, Ruth Ettleson (Maury) of Chicago, Illinois; daughter, [living relative] (Debbie) of Denver, Colorado; four grandchildren, Sean Hardy (Katy), Tyler Scharf (Alissa), Lauren Snell (Michael), Megan Scharf; and two great grandchildren, Everly Hardy and Landry Hardy.
