Notes

British‑administered territory between 1920 and 1948, and the destination the family spent the 1930s trying to reach. Samuel Mordechai Tiefenbrunner and Malka Gast immigrated in May 1935; Wolf Zeigfried Schmidt in March 1935. British immigration quotas (the "certificate" system) are the reason so many passport and citizenship applications in the tree came to nothing.
