Belzec extermination camp, Poland

Pure extermination camp in south‑eastern Poland, the first of the Operation Reinhard camps; about 435,000–500,000 Jews were murdered here in 1942, and there were almost no survivors. Erna Ester Tiefenbrunner and her granddaughter Edith Mia Sigall, deported from Munich via Regensburg to the Piaski ghetto, were almost certainly murdered here around April 1942.
