Haim Fainer

Haim Fainer was born on 10 July 1907 in Żarki. On 20 February 1935 he and his wife, Rachel Szternberg, first entered Palestine and settled in Ra'anana, where he worked as a shopkeeper from 1940 and obtained Palestinian citizenship on 19 February 1940. They had two daughters, Tzipora and Tova. It was in Haim and Rachel's Ra'anana home that Rachel's niece and nephew, Tila and Yitzhak Estrajcher, lived after reaching Palestine. Haim died in Ra'anana on 30 January 2008 and is buried beside Rachel at the Old Cemetery.
