Biography
Yehoshua Singer, born Osjas Salamon Singer, was born on 22 June 1917 in Bečov nad Teplou, Bohemia. On 30 March 1938 he sailed for Haifa aboard the ship Polonia with his first wife, Lea Huebner, and on 2 August 1940 applied for Palestinian citizenship, finally clearing to collect his papers the following year. He later married Sima Singer, née Szternberg. Yehoshua died in Tel Aviv on 18 June 1994 and is buried at the Yarkon Cemetery.
