City on the Danube in Bavaria. Erna Ester Tiefenbrunner and her granddaughter Edith Mia Sigall lived here at Haidplatz 4/8 from April 1940 until 2 April 1942, when they were put on the deportation train that left Regensburg that day — attached to the wider Bavarian transport out of Munich (Transport II/3), which carried about 1,000 Jews straight to the Piaski transit ghetto. They were murdered soon after. Stolpersteine (memorial "stumbling stones") were laid for them, and they appear in the town's published history of its Jewish community 1939–1945.
