Biography
Judes Katz, born Judes Telz, was born between 1867 and 1868 in Vilnius, a daughter of Leizer Khonon Telz and Beila Burshtein. She married Chonon Katz, and by the mid-1920s the couple lived at 4 Maironio Street, Vilnius; they had three children, Emma-Etel, Chiena and Rachmiel Alter. Judes died in Vilnius on 11 November 1925, of heart disease.

Note on age discrepancy: The revision/conscription records give Judes a birth year of c.1867/8 (age 7 in 1875; age 17 in 1885; age 30 in 1897). Her death record gives age 46 in 1925, suggesting born c.1879. It was common for ages on death records to be approximate, especially for women. The multiple consistent revision list entries strongly favour c.1867/8 as her true birth year.
