Notes

The first Nazi concentration camp, opened near Munich in March 1933 and the model for the others. Levi Sigall was interned here from 1938 and died in the camp on 23 March 1941. Berl Porubansky and Hanoch Kaplieckis were brought here on the Kaufering/Dachau labour transports from Kovno in July 1944; Berl was liberated on 29 April 1945. Josef Baruch Mandelbaum arrived on 27 April 1945, days before liberation.
