Notes

Small town in Baden, birthplace of the reformer Philipp Melanchthon. The Tiefenbrunner family lived here from 1914; Alfred Tiefenbrunner ran a shop at 20 Pforzheimer Straße and was naturalised as a Baden citizen in 1919 together with his wife Sara and children Jeanette, Leo, Hermann Majer and Willi. On 9 October 1933 that citizenship was revoked by the Nazi state. Rosa and Edith Sigall were born here in 1924 and 1926.
