Leo Leizer Scharf

Biography

Leo Leizer Scharf was born on 29 August 1898 in Chrzanów. He married Jeanette Tiefenbrunner in Karlsruhe on 14 July 1929, and they had two children, Fred and Ruth. In June 1937 the family reached Ellis Island from Le Havre aboard the SS Paris, settling in Chicago, where Leo was naturalised on 20 April 1939 and registered for the WWII draft in 1942. He died on 22 November 1971 and is buried at Waldheim Cemetery.
