Notes

The state declared in May 1948. The great majority of the family's survivors made their way here between 1945 and 1951 — from the DP camps, from Cyprus detention, from Poland and Lithuania — and it is where the Beeri, Turetz, Estrajcher and Singer lines continued. Zeev Beeri and Yitzhak Estrajcher served in the Haganah and the new Israel Defence Forces in the 1948 war; Yitzhak was killed in it.
