Notes

After the concentration camp was burned down in 1945, the nearby Wehrmacht barracks at Hohne became the largest Jewish DP camp in the British zone and the political and Zionist centre of the She'erit Hapletah (the "Surviving Remnant") in that zone. Members of the Estrajcher line — Itzchak Ernst, Chana "Chanka", Chuna‑Dawid and Yitzhak — together with Baruch Yitzhak Ber, Sima Singer and others were registered here between 1945 and 1949 while waiting to emigrate.
