Biography
Symcha Binem Estrajcher was born on 27 April 1875 in Wolbrom, a son of Chuna Dawid Estrajcher and Blima Itla Szwarcberg. Around 1898, in Janów, he married Estera Laja Ernst, and the couple settled in Sosnowiec, where they raised twelve children: Tila, Izrail Szymon, Jakov Jozef, Jochweta, Chil, Balima Ita, Natan, Rachmiel, Itzchak Ernst, Chana, Chuna-Dawid and Benjamin. From 1897 he ran a haberdashery and textile shop at 19 Modrzejowska Street, the family's home as well as its business, and in 1916 he made a donation to the Jewish community. He died in Sosnowiec on 8 May 1937 after a long illness, and is buried in the town's Jewish cemetery on Gospodarcza Street.
