Biography

William Brunner, also recorded by his birth name Willi (Wilhelm) Tiefenbrunner, was born on 29 March 1912 in Karlsruhe, a son of Alfred Alter P Tiefenbrunner and Sarah Rachel Scharf. He sailed from Le Havre and arrived in New York on 24 May 1938. On 8 September 1940, in Chicago, he married Ruth Sara Rachel Helfand, and they had three children — Linda, Steve Mark and Micheal Cary. Between September 1943 and December 1945 he served in the US Army in Germany. William died in Chicago on 25 March 1981.
